Links

This is basically (and obviously) the page for those looking for other possibly related sites that I might list here for one reason or another. Yep, that's about it, so here goes:

My DeviantArt

Shameless self-plug? Perhaps. More likely than not this is the site you got here from.

My AGNPH Profile

Yet another of my relatively few online accounts. Be warned that AGNPH is, as you probably know, an adult website- that is, they host content not intended for those under 18. I just want that out there as a warning, in case the site's banner might perhaps be... appalling to you. (Personally I have blocked the image from showing up on the site from my PC, as I mostly hang around the stories section, and it's... distracting, to say the least.)

I just want to also list a few people who's stories I have become attached to, and/or look up to:

XD-385

He also goes by Neo and has multiple stories, most of which tie in to one another somehow. A great author and a great friend. He also has an author account over at AGNPH, so check it out sometime.

Juug and CameronJC

Both of these guys have worked with Neo to write parts of, or companion stories to, Neo's work, and they're also very well done.

Matt

Also known by his alt name, Z-Byte, or Matt the Z-Byte, his story "Machinations of a Trainer" was introduced to me by a friend, and I have enjoyed it very much.

Ysrnty

He jokingly refers to himself as "that guy that has the weird name with the Y's in it that wrote that story that nobody read." His larger work, "The Bearer of the Eye" is a must-read for anyone who enjoys exciting battle scenes and well-thought plots. The story of his that actually caught my attention to start off though, was a poignant one-off piece titled "Don't Beg" which is in his random writings section (dubbed Music Box).

DarkMaiden

I had read part of Hoenn Harem at one point, enjoyed it, and then completely forgot it. I recently searched far and wide to re-find it, and have been pleasantly surprised by the improvement in quality that she continue to make. The story itself is an interesting sort of "what if" plot, involving (among other things) a Team Rocket project to create a small, elite team of hybrid human-pokémon fighters that grows beyond their control. It can be a little confusing at times, but it's a well-done piece.

Natsuke

I recently took a look through some of the AGNPH fiction archives and came across this quite long story. I find it shares many faults ("faults" may not be quite the correct term) with both Matt's and Ysrnty's stories, in that there is often slightly too much mature content for my taste. Despite this, I find it a very well-written and touching story, and is one of the only stories involving human-pokémon hybrids ("pokémorphs" to some) that I have found to be so well done. Definitely worth the read, if you can tolerate the fact that it's not done and Natsuke hasn't made a new chapter in about a year or more...

Dragonfree

On the topic of good stories involving pokémorphs, here's another one for you. From one of my favorite pokémon fansites, The Cave of Dragonflies, comes one of my favorite stories, despite the fact that it is probably in an eternal state of limbo now. Dragonfree has quite a large site, and the fiction section is only a small sliver of it. The story I referred to with hybrids is a minor work (minor when compared to the larger ongoing work, but still a good day or two of reading) which is titled "Morphic." I don't want to spoil too much, but it involves a few scientists who take a wild idea too far, then have to deal with the consequences of their actions. Outside of the fiction area however, TCoD has a wide array of things to offer, such as a great (and gigantic) section explaining just about anything regarding game mechanics, and a few miscellaneous sections on things from rants about other fansites to a how-to on custom spriting. Oh, and also a great section on making a site, which I relied heavily on for the revamp to the site, so thanks Dragonfree! Seriously, give the place a look!

Eevee

Yep, that's his name. He's an affiliate of Dragonfree's, and he runs one of the best game info databases available. I find myself using his site much more often than Bulbapedia, Smogon, and Serebii combined, which says a lot. The site is elegant-looking, runs fast, and manages to have perhaps the best intelligent search I've seen after Google even. The information you get is always relevant, and you can choose to show data specific to any generation you choose as well. If you're looking for somewhere to find information about the games, movesets, items, etc. then Eevee is definitely your guy.

ToTall

Despite the fact that it may be lacking in important literary articles such as attention to detail, grammar and spelling, etc. I find myself liking "Journey to Another World." I have been reading it as it is written since it first appeared on AGNPH, and have to say that the improvement shown is very encouraging, and on top of that I find myself more and more drawn to the characters as people after each and every chapter, which is something that I can't say about too many stories at all.

Speaking of improvement over time, I think there is one other story that simply needs to be here. I believe that almost anyone who has ever read pokémon fanfiction, especially any lemon, will have at least some idea what I'm getting at. Easily one of the best and perhaps longest-running fanfics I know of, the author literally invented the term "Garderotica." You might not have read his story, but you have almost certainly heard of him, either from the pokémon fiction community, or perhaps from the righteous shitstorm he caused at /b/ and ED when they discovered his work. Yeah, in case it hasn't become apparent by now, I'm talking about the author of Sinners:

Slash Firestorm

He is perhaps one of the best authors of fanfiction I've seen, and Sinners has been the perfect balance of suspense, action, and anything else for a good long while now. Despite the fact that he updates about as often as VGCats, his work (unlike Scott's, in most cases) is well worth the wait. This was actually the first major fanfic I ever read, and so I'm sure I read it through rose-colored lenses, but it still has a feeling of being very, very good. I don't really know much else to say about it, aside from suggesting that you check it out. Be warned though: you may want to make time for reading it, as catching up from the start to now would probably take most people at least a week of reading unless you read non-stop the entire time. Really, it's that long now, and it doesn't look like the end is anywhere in sight...

Bulbapedia

I mentioned them briefly a bit earlier, and I suspect that most anybody in the pokémon fandom would and should know about Bulbapedia, but here it is. It is without a doubt the most comprehensive collection of information about all things pokémon on the web. The wiki-style format can be both a blessing and a curse sometimes, and they're often down or excruciatingly slow, but there's nowhere better for any sort of trivia, be it about the anime, manga, games, or even something so obscure as an old run of TOMY figurines.

Serebii

I'll say it up-font: I have a bit of a beef with this site. Not, mind you, against any one person there, it's just that the forum and IRC moderators wield their banhammers very liberally, and it takes very little to piss them off. I'll admit that my first few forum posts were... well I was being a real shit, but that's not really an excuse for the continued treatment that myself and a few friends get. Serebii's site generally has a well-organized compendium of game and anime info, as well as "original" news items about happenings in the world at large that pertain to the pokémon fandom. I (and others) have suspected that Serebii rips their news from either pokébeach, bulbanews, or anywhere else, and with the complete dupe that PurpleKecleon pulled, it seems that this is perhaps true. Either way, you'll generally find reasonably accurate and recent news there regardless of where it really came from. I suppose the thing that really made me dislike the place was the mods' reaction to me telling them that the (then) new "Poké-Earth" was geographically bogus and offered to fix/improve it. I was summarily permabanned from the IRC channel and told in no uncertain terms to get bent. Really friendly staff... Huh.

And here's my little disclaimer for the page: I am (with the exception of my two linked accounts) not the person responsible for any content at the links provided here, so don't hold me accountable for what you see there. Most or all of the stories I mentioned have some amount of adult content, so if you're not old enough enough to legally view it, or mature enough to morally handle it, then don't go there. You can rest assured that the DA links are safe to view, but even there, the content is the responsibility of the original author and whatnot: I'm not the one to baww at if you object to the material shown in those sites. Thank you, and have a nice day...
